Altitude - BoBunny DT

Hello again :)

Today I have a couple of things to show you using BoBunny's Altitude range.  I love this collection!  Im a sucker for snowflakes lol :)

I wanted to send a Christmas decoration as a thank you gift but I didn't just want to wrap it in paper and then post it.  I wanted to do something with a bit more thought to convey my thanks.  This person loves Christmas just as much as me I think :) and has been extremely supportive and encouraging to me over the last couple of years.  I just wanted to say thanks!
I had held onto this container thinking it would come in handy, and it was perfect for the purple tones of Altitude.

To cover the box Ive used the 6x6 paper pad to cover the sides.  The cluster on the front is made from die cut poinsettias, petals and the new Stamp stickers!

For the tag I have created my background using silver and blue glimmer sprays, and then randomly stamped the background with a selection of four different stamps.  The last stamp applied was a snowflake, that I white embossed.

The 'Noel' has been die cut and then inked with Blueberry ink pad and I have inked the snowflakes with versa mark, then embossed white powder over them, and  lastly added glitter paste.

So, Juliana :)  this was for you!
Thank you for all your help with the endless questions, my at times computer ineptitude ;) and all the encouragement you've given me.  I really appreciate it!!!!

Thanks for popping by everyone.
Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Collage - BoBunny DT

Hi Everyone!

How are those homemade Christmas cards coming along?
I used to make all of mine, til time and sanity kicked in lol.  These days I still make a few but not the 30 or so I used to make!  Just a few special ones.  I did get a bit of stick for sending out bought ones ;)  but hey, in my defence there are some gorgeous cards out there to buy!!

Today I have a couple of cards to show you using BoBunny's Christmas Collage.  I love that it has a distinctive heritage feel to it, but also a bit of a modern twist to it too.

The idea for the first card I found trawling through Pinterest for some ideas, I was wanting to do something a bit different.  Course it makes posting………… interesting!
To create the cluster in my fold Ive just layered some of the new petals with BoBunny blossoms and tucked in some Noteworthy pieces, a little chipboard banner and fussy cut some ivy from a tag.  it need something to finish it off so I added some lace, muslin, string and a button and then splattered some gold glimmer spray, and my fav stitches stamp.

Heres a  of closeups so you can see what I mean.

The second is simpler and much more postage friendly ;)  and Ive used some Leaky Shed chipboard. All I did to alter it was painted it with gesso, randomly stamped and then inked with pinecone.  Really easy but effective!

The poinsettias are Spellbinders and the leaves are part of the Tim Holtz Pinecone die.  Heres some more close ups for you :)

Thanks for popping by!

Cardabilities Sketch #112

Hi Everyone,
Its reveal day over at Cardabilities and five new beautiful cards picked as featured designers - there really is some absolutely stunning work submitted each month!
You can find the new sketch here.

This is my take on the sketch.  Ive made this specifically for a close friend of mine who I have been lucky enough to work with as well, but changes are happening, and we all know how I hate change lol!!!  She is moving to Dunedin, far too far away for my liking, plane ride or no plane ride!

One of her favourite colours is lime green and bright orange - Ive dug out my collection of BoBunny Lemonade Stand to make my flower cluster.  The base paper is the new Chevron Double Dot, Ive just used the reverse side of it.

Because so many people from work will be signing this card, it folds out.  When you open it this is what you see.

Fold that part open and you find all this space for people to write in.  In case you're wondering I always decorate the inside as well, it provides a sturdy base so the card can sit upright without falling over from the weight on the front.

Thanks for popping by, don't forget to pop by Cardabilities and check out the new sketch!

The Mighty FORD Truck - BoBunny DT

Hi Everyone!
I seem to have been in this "I have heaps of time" bubble and now its four weekends I think til Christmas!!!!  I had plans to make a few decorations this year and typically Im fast running out of time - it seems to be a yearly occurrence for me unfortunately!  The shopping is done, just other things Ive been wanting to achieve that are not going as fast as I'd like :(

This project is one of those.  I've had it banging round in my head for ages, well since the Wild Card collection came out.  I wanted to alter a truck and then I found this little beauty in Mitre 10.  A bit more than I wanted to spend on something to alter but it was so perfect I just got it!

The whole truck was just natural wood, and I've painted the main truck body black and the support structure of the deck.  The head lights Ive made silver using BB pearlescents, worked a treat!  The canopy is covered with Wild Card Shuffle and the doors have the garage emblem fussy cut from the same range of paper.

The truck is packed ready for a jolly good Christmas break, with presents, the tree, pinecones in the back for the campfire and the suitcases!

The suitcases were made using the Souvenir range - they're just little gift boxes that Ive covered.  The straps and handles are made from cardstock.  The presents are altered jewellery boxes, covered with the Altitude collection.
Before you ask, yes it is a FORD truck, it couldn't possibly be anything else or it wouldn't be allowed up the drive! ;)

Did you spy that little angel up on top of the tree?  A few years ago I was part of secret santa swap and this was my present, completely handmade, little did I know at the time just how perfect she would be!  Amanda is one clever lady :)

See you next time!

I Love My Dog!

I really do!!  But she can be such a little minx at times :)  Out of the two of them you could say she's caused the most trouble.  Dougal was just about the perfect puppy, the only trouble he got into was deciding to chew on my sisters Agave plant and ended up drunk :(  it turned out its the lead ingredient in tequila!!  MacKenzie is another kettle of fish!

And yet she looks so angelic!!  Don't be fooled!  She can be so beautifully behaved but then its almost like she's had enough of perfect and little minx in her surfaces.  She was the chewer, and even chilli powder didn't stop her!  She also adores, positively ADORES food - I blame the mix of spaniel in her ;)  Took me awhile to figure out she was using the furniture like an obstacle course, jumping from table to chair to bench to get to whatever she could.  How did I figure that out?  I found the wooden spatulas that sit in bin on the bench out in the backyard with the scrubbing brush and garbage guzzler lid!  A bit of furniture moving happened and that behaviour has stopped.

And for some reason this photo loaded sideways?!!  The cluster is made with a selection of dies and yes my favourite flower die :) The cream flower at the top of the picture is made with the smaller die, this time Ive cut two and pulled them into a smaller closed bud. The chipboard word is Blue Fern Studios I just inked black to make it stand out.
If you remember I can't sew to save myself so that stitching is a stamp - appropriately called Stitches ;)

Like the title says, she has bought us the best of memories, and even though she can be a little minx she always makes me smile at her antics - not that I let her catch me!  and I wouldn't change a thing <3

The papers Ive used are a mixture of Somewhere in Time and Candy Cane Lane.  If you pop on over to the BoBunny blog you can check out another layout Ive done using the same two collections, but completely different.
Heres a wee sneak peak:

See you there!

Madeline - BoBunny DT

Hi there!

Last month I was asked if I could do something with a photo of a friends parents - they were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

I decided to use the lovely Madeline collection.  I love the soft pinks of this collection, its fast become a favourite - I seem to say that about a lot of them lately ;)

To create my clusters Ive used lots of layers mixing in some of the Noteworthy range, with chipboard, blossoms and the new petals, and yes Ive made my favourite bloom again ;)  I also popped in the new filmstrip - this stuff is the bomb!!  LOVE it!!

A selection of brads, and jewels and a randomly stamped  Distressed Textures stamp finished it off.
I popped it into a shadow box frame I found at the Warehouse and it was done, AND it went down like a treat :)

See you next time!

Cardabilities Sketch #110

Hello again :)
Today is the final reveal for my first term at Cardabilities.  Ive really enjoyed playing with the sketches Karan has designed each month as well as being involved in such an organised friendly team of crafters.

You can see the new sketch here.

This time round I used a really old paper range from Pink Paislee, its some of the last pieces I have from it :(  There are just some ranges out there from different companies that I have just loved over the years and could not bring myself to cut into!!  But the pile was getting bigger so time to start playing with them - anyone else out there as bad as me? ;)

A little closeup of that cluster for you - some Prima flowers and leaves with a new leafy flourish die - yes I do have an addiction to dies ;) - Ive cut out using the packaging the flowers came in.

I loved this sketch so much I also made another card, this time much more simple and for a boy!  Its a bit of MME with a mixture of BoBunny stamps and embellishments.  To get the yellow behind the phrase at the bottom I stamped first in yellow paint, and then over the top in black archival ink, to make it stand out a bit more and tie in with colour scheme.

The 13 is stamped and embossed - its a set of stamps from BB Zip-a-Dee range.  That circle cluster is a very old set of clear stamps from Fancy Pants, a 12 x12 set that is one of my favs.
Both cards are quite different, but thats the perfect thing about sketches!

If you pop on over to the Cardabilities page you can see some really stunning examples and the featured designers - they're creativity will blow you away, simply stunning cards!!

Candy Cane Lane - BoBunny DT

Hey There! :)
This past weekend was a long one for us here in New Zealand,  Monday was a national holiday, Labour Day - and like most Labour weekends the weather was quite patchy! and of course today is glorious - the day we go back to labouring ;)

Today I have to share with you a couple of cards Ive made using Candy Cane Lane from BoBunny - surprisingly this has turned into one of my favourite collections.  I say surprising because Im a traditional chick - I love all those old fashioned traditional colours and graphics, so this collection took me by surprise!

Ive made these to add to the Christmas card pile, specifically with someone in mind - she loves pink!!

Nothing too hard for this first card - a few layers, some fussy cutting and die cutting and its done!

Theres my favourite flower die again lol, Ive changed the centre 'stamens' this time, and used a punch I had instead of using the die.  BB have recently changed the way they package their dot jewels, so you can purchase them in shades of colour - red, green, aqua etc and they come in pearls and jewels and they still match collections perfectly!!

This card I went all out pink :) but I love it!  Ive fussy cut those trees and centred them over a die cut wreath over a BB doily and just added some jewels.  Simple but effective.

Now hopefully Ive got you all inspired to make some non-traditional Christmas cards ;)
Thanks for popping by :)

Cardabitlities Sketch #109

Today is reveal day over at Cardabilities which means a new sketch for you to play with, and you will also see some of the beautiful cards picked as featured designers.  You can find the new sketch here.

This time I have decided to flip the sketch upside down, and created a card for a colleague at work who is about to start her big OE and venture out into the world.  Im betting Paris will be one of her stops ;)  I've used one of my favourite ranges from Teresa Collins, Memorabilia with some yummy Petaloo flowers.

If you pop on over to Cardabilities there are some beautiful interpretations of the sketch.  While you're there you could check out Sketchabilities too!

Changes, Halloween and Graphic 45.

I have a few funny quirks, don't laugh!  One of them being I hate change, unless of course Im the one making the change ;)  Some change is for the good and thats ok, but some change makes me sad and its come about through a state of progressive evolution I guess would be one of way of putting it.  So I bet you're wondering where Im going with this?!

Well, at the weekend I went down to Timaru with one of my Scrappy BFF's for a day of creativity.  Its a two hour drive to get there and it starts at 10am-10pm, we generally get going about 8am.  It got me thinking about how we got to this point, I mean its a long way to go for a monthly scrapbook crop!, but thats the way scrapping seems to have evolved.  Our dollar became so high against the US that people found it cheaper to buy from overseas, and with that came more variety of product being available.  And Im not saying that its right or wrong but that change, changed things in NZ and shops closed down with the decrease in sales.
For me that means theres only one wee store in Christchurch  www.thepaperteapot.co.nz when we used to have about 5 I think, depending on how far back you go, and that also means those weekly crops that some stores used to have, where you got together with your friends, chatted and created, learnt new tips and made new friends, have gone.  Hence my monthly trip to Timaru, spending the day at Artfull Crafts.  So yes, sometimes I hate change, and you could say its a purely selfish reason but I just find it sad.

Don't get me wrong, I love my days creating in Timaru, its just the journey of how we got to this point, I find sad for scrapbooking.  A group of us try to get together on a Wednesday which doesn't always work - my shift work often interferes :(  and things come up, thats just life.

So what did I create?  A few things, but this was my favourite.

In  NZ we don't really celebrate Halloween, although there is more and more of a Halloween influence here as the years go by, but nothing like Ireland or America.  Graphic 45 produced Steampunk Spells and I fell in love! and I don't even like Halloween!!  But those colours and graphics are just so cool!!

The base of this is two books that I found on sale at Typo, I just covered them and started building my layers and embellishments.

The bats are two layers stuck together, cut on my Cameo and the chipboard oval is Dusty Attic that I have painted and then inked to give it an aged look.

This handsome devil I found in the $2 shop and Ive given him 'wings' of spider webs again cut from my Cameo.

Aren't those flowers beautiful?!  The purple vine is from  Manor House that Ive been holding onto for awhile waiting for that perfect project - guess I found it :)

So considering I don't do halloween I bet you're wondering what Im going to do with it!  I did look at it when it was finished thinking I love it so much do I really want to give it away?  But I think it needs to be shown off and treasured by someone who loves Halloween, so its winging its way to Ireland tomorrow :)

See you next time!

Cardabilities #108

Hi Everyone!
Theres a new sketch over at Cardabilities right now, so go take a look at some of the gorgeousness the DT has created!

Heres the sketch :)

And heres my take on it. Ive pretty much stuck to sketch this time.

I've created my background this time, stamping the same stamp (Kaisercraft) three times, and then inking the edges with two distress inks, Walnut Stain and Old Paper.

I've also used some really old Basic Grey rubons to tuck in behind my flower cluster, which is a mixture of Prima and Petaloo.

I made this for a friend for her birthday last month, and made a tag to match.  I LOVE how its all turned out, think it might be one of my favourites yet!

Thanks for popping by!

Once Upon a Springtime

Hello again :)

This month I plans to apply for Dusty Attic DT but unfortunately life and a new job got in the way of creativity and i only got one of the three requirements completed.  Thats just the way things go sometimes.  So instead I thought I would just enter this layout in the sketch challenge, but it seems to have closed………………………and its still Sept?  Anyway, here it goes!

One of the requirements was to complete a layout using the current sketch.

I loved this range from Graphic 45!!, Once Upon a Springtime, and its still one of my favs - still have wee bit left ;)  I used these photos of me taken at my Christening - for some reason there were doubles taken, so I had lots to play with!

Ive used DA Chicken Wire, the inner part of the middle size clock and Foliage on my layout.  The chicken wire I left naked, the circle has been covered in ink and for the foliage I have covered it with gesso, randomly stamped over it and then inked.

Ive added a combination of Manor House blooms, with Petaloo flowers and Prima toadstools, with a lot of fussy cutting!

Hope you enjoy :)
